Show State Democrats List Platform The Democratic party In convention con-vention in Salt Lake City last week end endorsed a platform that unqualifiedly endorsed the party's national platform, and blamed the Republican party for all the nation's ills, including high prices and lack of housing. The platform made no mention men-tion of the grand jury investigation investiga-tion and administration of the Utah Liquor Control Act, but did recommend the appointment of a representative non-partisan committee com-mittee of citizens to reexamine the act A summary of the pledges follows: fol-lows: Agriculture! Continued support of soil conservation and research in all fields of agriculture. Civil Libortlosi Enactment of effective legislation prohibiting discrimination on basis of race, sex, color, national origin or creed and enactment of a fair employment practices act Civil Service: A civil service law to cover all employes of the state and Its political subdivisions subdivis-ions who hold nonpolicy-maklng positions: extension of provisions of the state labor relations act to these employes; appointment to state offices without discrimination discrim-ination as to sex. Alcoholism i Establishment of a farm for rehabilitation of alcoholics al-coholics and enactment of a basic ba-sic law providing for scientific treatment of alcoholism. Education i Maintenance of the school equalization program; provision pro-vision for an adequate building program; sufficient state appropriations approp-riations to maintain the present teacher retirement system; full support of school lunch program; election of state board of education educa-tion and removal of nffw nt state superintendent of public Instruction from the political ballot; bal-lot; support of federal aid for education. Fish and Came I To conserve and develop resources with recognition recog-nition to rights of all. Judiciary: Enactment of a nonpartisan non-partisan Judiciary law. Labori Repeal of Clegg-Vest act and restoration and reenact-ment reenact-ment of the act it supplanted; amendment of compensation acts to provide awards to disabled employes without discrimination as to length of disability, and to increase occupational disease compensation to the scale of occupational oc-cupational Injuries; extension of unemployment insurance act to state employes; establishment of apprenticeship program under state industrial commission, and "establishment of a'rehabillta-tion a'rehabillta-tion program which correlates the responsibility of Industry and government to persons who have been disabled." Natural Resources: Indorsement of central Utah project and a program to promote establishment establish-ment of small industries throughout through-out the state. Social security!
