Show Parowan Unit Lights Vermillion Castle The Parowan Chamber of Commerce Com-merce has undertaken a project of lighting the Vermilion Castle Forest recreation camp In Parowan Paro-wan canyon, a project, which if successfully completed, will be beneficial to residents of all parts of Iron county. The forest camp, easily accessible, access-ible, Is an extremely popular picnic pic-nic area with people of Parowan, Cedar City and other towns of this area, but the lack of lighting light-ing facilities has minimized the use of the area after dark, except ex-cept for campflre programs. A committee composed of Samuel J. Whitney, chairman, Fred Smith, Jay Moore, and Howard How-ard Ward, has investigated the possibilities of providing lights for the area, and has made much progress in getting the project underway. Parowan city has agreed to furnish electricity for the project, and the forest service ser-vice has granted a permit for the Installation of lighting facilities. fa-cilities. Organizations of the city have agreed to help with the labor and contributions are being solicited to provide funds for the purchase of materials. Mr. Whitney states that the project will be rushed to completion com-pletion as quickly as possible. |
