Show Cedar Gets Note 01 "Thanks" From Tourist Proving that police work is not all of the "get tough" variety, Chief Otto Fife of the Cedar City police force released a letter the local gendarmes received this week from Mrs. Charles West Jones, Glendale, California, regarding re-garding a parking violation courtesy ticket she and her husband hus-band received while vacationing vacation-ing in this area recently. Her husband, a bridge engineer in the Los Angeles office of the State Division of Highways thought the "Thank You" signs at the end of detours in the state was particulary fine, and that he was sending a clipping from the Glendale News Press, part of which we print verbatim to the state capitol. The News-Press said: "Everywhere In Utah the residents resi-dents appeared to be doing their utmost to give visitors a welcome," wel-come," Mrs. Jones said. "If there was a detour, a sign at the end of it read, Thank you'. If we were having trouble finding a parking place, a Utah driver was apt to move his car to provide space for us, something that never nev-er happened to us anywhere else. She said she was especially Impressed with an over-parking courtesy ticket she received In Cedar City, Utah. The ticket read: "Cedar City extends its greeting greet-ing to you and hopes that your visit may be pleasant. You have unknowingly violated the traffic law by over parking. Feeling that this was unintentional and that you will not err In this respect again, there will be no penalty to you, Our Guest.
