Show Lady Lions to Select King, Queen for Independence Parade The annual King and Queen contest for the Fourth of July Children's parade, sponsored by the Cedar City Lady Lions, will be held Saturday, June 17, from 6 to 8 p. m. in the Third ward chtpel. Boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 8 inclusive are eligible to enter the contest, and parents aie to register them from 6 to 6:30. The King and Queen chosen, chos-en, will ride on the Lady Lions float which will lead the Independence Inde-pendence Day parade. After registering, the boys and girls will go back to separate rooms, where three Judges will pick the King and Queen. Children Child-ren will be Judged on health, personality and appearance. A program has been prepared for the parents In the recreation recrea-tion hall during the judging. Following the program, the children will march across the stage and the King and Queen will be announced. At this time, loving cups will be presented to the winners. The July 4th parade which the King and Queen will lead, again will be for miniature floats enly, and will be Judged in various var-ious divisions. These divisions are patriotic, nursery rhymes, original, ori-ginal, and this year, a primary section has been added which will give the wards an opportunity oppor-tunity to compete. Private per-sons per-sons or business firms also are urged to enter floats in the phrade. |
