Show Water Projects Are Discussed With State Engineer Proposed water projects in this area, to secure additional water run-off for irrigation purposes were gone over in Cedar City Tuesday afternoon with W. R. Wayman, engineer, Utah Water and Power Board. Those present to discuss the situation with Mr. Wayman were John S. Woodbury, president of the Coal Creek Irrigation Co., Henry Jones, vice president of the same organization; Gronway R. Parry, president of the Iron County Coun-ty Water Users Association, Dr. A. L. Graff,' and Jack Gardner, a state engineer. The proposed project, if car-ried car-ried out, would only make use of high water on the upper Virgin Vir-gin River and other streams east of Kanarra in the mountains. The plans would call for a canal to tap these rivers during high water time, thereby augmenting the supply of water for the vai. ley. It was brought out at the meeting, that approximately 1,000 second feet of water was being lost each spring during the run-off and flowing down to Lake Mead. The project hopes to make use of this wasted water. The group also brought out that the water could also be di-verted di-verted down to Washington to fill the proposed Ash Creek reservoir. res-ervoir.
