These three people will be seen in the Branch Agricultural college production produc-tion next week. jK. j. Jt Top Broadway Comedy" John Loves Mary" Will Be Produced at B. A. C. A top Broadway "hit" and delightful de-lightful comedy "John Loves Mary", will be staged next week by the play production class of the Branch Agricultural college under the direction of Donald K. Nelson. The cast has gone into night rehearsals in preparation for the opening night, Thursday, October 27. New furniture has been pur-chased pur-chased by the college to add to the stage setting. In addition, Prof. Twain Tippetts, who is in charge of the settings, returned this week from Salt Lake City, 'bringing back new materials for the stage. In the starring roles are Avis Palmer, Cedar City, who plays the part of Mary, and Ole Larson, Lar-son, Monroe, as John. The com-edy com-edy deals with the lives and loves of two young people and at the same time takes a crack at government red tape and bungling. In addition to the two starring roles the play has a strong supporting sup-porting cast. Jack Roberts, popular pop-ular ballad singer, plays the comic role of Jack; Roma Ann Carpenter, a speech scholarship students from Kanab high, as Mother; Norma White, a speech scholarship students from Beaver high as the Red Cross director, and also Brian McDonald, Price; Grace Esplin, Cedar City, and Peter Ostroff, New York. Theater-goers, who remember former college productions such as "Dear Ruth" and "Kiss and Tell", will be further entertained by this top Broadway comedy. Students who are working on the staging, lights and sound under Prof. Tippetts are LaMar Terry, Hinckley, and Norman White, Beaver. Velma Williams, Clearfield, is assisting Prof. Nelson as student director and Joyce Terry, Cedar City, is the business manager. Mary Lou Hardy, Alamo, Nevada, Neva-da, is the stage manager. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Mon-day, October 24, and curtain time has been set at 8:15 p. m. In-vitations In-vitations have already been sent out by Dr. H. Wayne Driggs, director, di-rector, to high schools, asking them if they would again sponsor the play as has been done in the past. |
