This Is the first in the fall ycries of lectures held by the Knife and Fork club and will re in the ballroom of El Escal-ante Escal-ante hotel. While there Is plenty of food for thought in what the gallant Senor "from down South Amcrl-ca Amcrl-ca way" has to say. he says it in such a charmingly humorous manner that the serious side of his remarks slides past almost unnoticed until much later when It causes serious reflection. Mr. Fallon, though now a naturalized nat-uralized American citizen keeps his hand in the South American pie by frequent trips to the land of his nativity and other countries coun-tries In the great continent to the south and he has recently completed a five-month's trade survey of Latin America. His is a most happy combination; combina-tion; that of knowing entirely what he Is talking about and being able to do so in such a charming manner. His humor Is rare, for he has that ability which only a truly great man has; he is able to laugh at himself. him-self. But his is a gentle humor, ever kindly and good-natured, and always playing its part in helping us understand a little better our neighbors to the south In this. Mr. Fallon plays an important role In helping all cf the nations of the three Amer-leas Amer-leas present a united front against the common enemy who would destroy us. |
