Show County Fair Draws Plaudits oi Crowd At the conclusion of the Iron County Fair and Horse Show In Parowan last Saturday, practically practic-ally everyone seemed to agree that this year's show was one of the most profitable and entertaining enter-taining ever held. Drawing top billing as an entertainment en-tertainment feature was the horse show on Friday and Saturday Satur-day afternoons. With as large attendance as the recent race meet at Parowan, the two afternoons af-ternoons were full of expert horsemanship, top show animals and plenty of thrills and had the crowd wishing for more at the close of the show. In the exhibits of the fair, the crowds seemed to agree that the home making and 4-H displays were exceptionally good. This Included In-cluded such items as sewing, handiwork, canning, baking and in addition, arts, crafts, hobbies and flowers. Because of the late spring frosts which took all the fruit in the county and the dry summer, the agricultural exhibits did not match up to those of previous years In neither quantity nor quality. Extensive machinery displays at the race track also drew considerable con-siderable attention from the r.ia-ny r.ia-ny fair goers. In the horse show, there was a fine exhibition of American Saddle Sad-dle Horses from the Flint Stables at Layton. The chariot races, and three matched horse races each afternoon also provided plenty o thrills, alon.7 with bronc riding, rid-ing, and Brahma steer riding and roping. The fair activities were climaxed cli-maxed ench evening with dances in the Brown Derby with the 7-Notes 7-Notes orcliestia furnishing the music. |
