Show Mrs. Emma Loose Peterson Dies in Iron County Hospital; Funeral to Be in Provo Funeral services will be held Saturday In Provo for Mrs. Erma Jane Loose Peterson, 61, mother of Edwin L. Peterson of Cedar City, who died suddenly Wednesday Wednes-day at 4 p. m. in the Iron County Coun-ty hospital. Mrs. Peterson was born in Pay-son Pay-son on Jan. 5, 1889, the daughter daugh-ter of Col. C. E. and Mary Jane Patten Loose Peterson. The family fam-ily moved to Provo while she was a child, and she attended the schools there and the Brigham Young University. She also attended at-tended Mills college In Oakland, Calif., where she graduated with a major in dramatics and literature. litera-ture. She was active in these pursuits pur-suits during her lifetime, being a charter member of the Nelke Reading club, Provo chapter, and one of the organizers of the Alice Louise Reynolds Literary Liter-ary club. She was still active in both organizations up until the time of her death and was a past president of the Nelke club. On Jan. 5, 1909, she married Preston G. Peterson. He died in 1945. Survivors include one son: Ed- win L. Peterson, Cedar City; a grandchild, Lelta, Cedar City; two brothers and one sister: W. Dean and Clarence C. Loose, both of Provo and Mrs. George Gordon, Gor-don, Park City. |
