Show BAC Starts Grid Sessions For 1950 Season Coach Murray Maughan of the Branch Agricultural college, is not making any predictions yet on the Bronco's chances against the Williams Field Fliers, when the two teams clash here Friday Sept. 15, under the lights at the Bronco stadium. Up to Wednesday, only 20 men had turned out for the Bronco squad, but double this number are expected by the time regis-tiation regis-tiation is completed at the school on Monday. On the other hand, the Williams Wil-liams Fliers have a squad which has been holding regular drills with the cream of last year's regulars turning out for grid sessions. They claim the forward wall will average a little better than 200 lbs, and about 21 years of age. First scrimmage for the Broncos Bron-cos is expected to be held Saturday, Sat-urday, at which time there will be a better indication of the potential po-tential strength of the team. Of the 20 who have been reporting re-porting for practice during the past week, a few are regulars who saw good service last year. They include: Dick Warner, fullback; full-back; Charles Cooley, tackle; Bob Jordan, guard; Dixie Leavitt, end; Dick Southwick, end; Bob Lambert, halfback, and Jack Godard, halfback. Three newcomers new-comers who show much promise are Frank Manzione, fullback; Bob ' Sterling, quarterback, and Jimmy Neilson, halfback. The complete schedule for the Bronco football season is: Sept 15, Williams AFB at home; Sept. 22, Las Vegas AFB at home; Sept. 30, Albion away; Oct. 6, Snow at home (Home-coming) ; Oct 13, Mesa at Grand Junction, Colo.; Oct. 18, Carbon at home; Oct. 27, Westminster at Salt Lake City; Nov. 3, Ricks at home; Nov. 11, Phoenix Junior college at Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Ariz., and Nov. 23, Dixie Junior college at St. George. |
