Show Branch Aggies Receive Bid to NTCAA Tourney The high flying basketball squad of the Branch Agricultural Agricultur-al college this week received an invitation to the National Junior Jun-ior College Athletic Association Region IV basketball tournament, which will he held fn Ogdcn March 2, 3 and 4. Having accepted the invitation, the BAC team will be competing with the outstanding junior college col-lege teams from Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and Idaho. Weber college col-lege at Ogden, northern division ICAC champions will play host to the tourney. The winner of the Ogden tournament tour-nament wih represent this four-state four-state region at the National Junior Jun-ior College basketball tournament tourna-ment scheduled for Hutchinson, Kansas, March 21 through 25. Three Utah schools will be represented rep-resented in the Ogden tourney. They will be Weber college, the host school, and Carbon colkge from Price, and BAC from Cedar City, currently tied for first place in the southern division of the ICAC. Both teams have nine wins and five losses. Representing Colorado will be Mesa junior college leader in the Colorado Junior college conference, con-ference, and second place Trinidad Trini-dad junior college, and Pueblo junior college. The state of Idaho Ida-ho will be represented by Boise junior college, currently runner-up runner-up in the northern division of the ICAC. Wyoming will be represented rep-resented by Casper junior college col-lege from Casper. Pairings for the tournament were announced Saturday by Milton Mecham, director of the tourney. Four games will be staged tonight with the Boise junior college meeting the Pueblo Pueb-lo junior college in the first game at 5 p. m. At 6:30, the Broncos will test Mesa junior college. The defending cham pions from Weber will take on Casper junior college at 8 p. m. and Carbon win meet Trinidad junior college at 9:30. The tournament will be a sin-gle sin-gle elimination affair. Four games will be played Friday in the championship and consolation consola-tion divisions. Final games are slated for Saturday. |
