Show Faculty 1898-99 Branch Normal School Founders' Day will be observed at the Branch Agricultural Agricultur-al college with appropriate ceremonies on March 9. W ft Kf College Officials Plan Founders' Day Observance An "old-fashioned" observance of Founders' Day is being planned plan-ned by officials of the Branch Agricultural college for Thursday, Thurs-day, March 9, according to Prof-D. Sargent, committee chairman. chair-man. . . i i . . i . , 4. ... inuiuucu in me uay s activities will be a parade, a public meeting, meet-ing, a special radio program, displays dis-plays of historical interest and a showing of historical movies. The parade will start at 10 a. m. on the college campus and will proceed to downtown Cedar City and back to the college. A color guard of the BAC ROTC unit will lead the parade carrying carry-ing the BAC flag, the old banner of the Branch Normal School and the United States flag. Following the color guard will be the BAC band with the marching march-ing units of the ROTC, Survivors of the group which fought snow and cold to haul materials for the first college building will (Contlnuod on pagt 11) FOUNDERS' DAY (Continued from front page) ride in the parade aboard running run-ning gears of a wagon. Also in the line of march will be representatives of each graduating grad-uating class since 1900, carrying banners of their class. The remainder re-mainder of the parade will be made up of college officials, faculty members and students. Founders and early boosters of the school will be honored at the meeting to be held in the college col-lege auditorium at 11 a. m. Students Stu-dents and alumni members will participate. Music will be under the direction of the college mu sic department. Class reunions will be held during the afternoon and evening. eve-ning. At 6 p. m., a special broadcast broad-cast of "The Birth of BAC" will be aired over KSL'B. This is an original radio drama prepared by the radio production class. At 7:30 in the Bootstrap theatre, a showing of historical movies of the college will be open to all visitors and guests. |
