Show Cedar City Men Advance In Many Fields of Service Aviation Cadet Robert N. Bulloch, Bul-loch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bulloch of Cedar City, was a member mem-ber of a large class of Uncle Sam's potential fighters of the air recently recent-ly advanced from the prefllght school of the San Antonio Aviation Avia-tion Cadet Center at San Antonio, Texas. He will undergo training in the air at primary, basic and advanced flying fields, and then receiving the coveted wings and commission of a fl;lng officer. Eleven other Utah men were among the graduating class. Two new recruits from Cedar City, Corry Dixon Parry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Parry, and San Louis Mitchell, son of Mrs. Alice Mitchell, have taken their first step toward becoming seasoned Navy men after arriving at the U. S. Naval Training Station, located on Lake Pean Oreille, at Farragut, Idaho. After their training has been completed, each will be given an opportunity to qualify for additional addition-al training In one of the Service Schools the Navy has established for enlisted personnel. Flight Officer Talmadge Gordon Gor-don McDonough, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. T. McDonough of Cedar City, has reported at Hobts Army Air Fieldt Hobbs. New Mexico for transition training as a multi-en-Cine bomber pilot, according to the announcement of Colonel Joseph P. Bailey, commanding officer at Hobbi Field. McDonough was commissioned com-missioned as second lieutenant and leceived his pilot's wings at Ros-well, Ros-well, New Mexico, on April 12th. Upon completion of his training at Hobb.3 Army Air Field he will be qualified as a combat bomber pilot. Wayne G. Jackson of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Jackson of Cedar City, is new enrolled as an aviation avia-tion cadet In the Army Air Sorcej Pre-Flight School for Pilots at Maxwell Field, located In tlie outskirts out-skirts of Montgomery, the capital of Alabama. Cadet Jackson Is a graduate of the Cedar City high school, class of 1937. He has been overseas since December Dec-ember 22, 191, serving in the Hawaiian Ha-waiian Islands. He left Cedar City in March. 1941, with the local Battery Bat-tery of the Utah National Guard. |
