Show Cedar City Red Cross i Goal Set Aft $5,IOO Citizens of Cedar City will be a-sked to contribute $5,100, approximately approx-imately $1 for every man, woman and child In the city, Monday when ' the 1945 American Red Cross War Fund Drive opens. An appeal is made to everyone to contribute irecly In order that our Red Cross , workers can stay at the side of our fighting men, no matter what field of battle they may be sent to. No red-blooded American, Interested Inter-ested In the welfare of our boys can doubt that the Red Cross Is "at his side", because there Is seldom sel-dom a day passes on which we do not hear of some valiant act of the Red Cross membership, in administering admin-istering the needs of our men. The Red Cross men go onto the battle fields of the front lines, parachute into enemy territory with air borne .troops, they provide food pack'-'ages pack'-'ages to prisoners of war, many times saving the men from actual starvation. There are so many ways In which the Red Cross serves, and ( most of them are so obvious to any interested person, that lt seems almost al-most a waste of tlm8 and space to even make an appeal for support. We feel certain that all that Is necessary ne-cessary Is to Inform people when and where they may make their contributions, and to remind them that this Is not Just a membership campaign, but a War Fund Drive. ' Bill Dover, Cedar City Drive Chairman, announces that the ' drive will open Monday morning, ,V March 12th.. and states that he is I confident that the city mrota will be reached by night fall. Workers have been assigned to every street, and every home will be visited during the day. A special appeal Is made to everyone every-one to leave his contribution at home with his wife, or someone that will be at home, so that lt will not be necessary for workers to call back. , The enly exception to this is for the men working at the iron mines, where collections will be made during the day. |
