You will love the Caoa-let Caoa-let Gem, ''Come Sing My Sons With Me" as Janice Merrywcather shuts it, and you will thrill to "The Song of the Sea" sung so bolster ouslY by E'.dred Faster. Gam Seeg-mi Seeg-mi U r and L Fae Rollins will leave you breathless after their rendition rendi-tion of "My Heart is Mine No More," and you will go a littl? , cuckoo watching Floyd Tucker and ' Edwin Marker doing the same over Joan Jones and Shirley Nelson. You will want to Rumba and do ( the Tanjo with Theron Foster, Earl Kenney and Irene Leany and eat "Clam Chowder" with Eugene Urie. "Tea For .Two' as sung by Idonna Gower and Norma Jean Wood will make you want to Join them. The H.gh School orchestra adds color and vitality to the numbers so altogether this ls sure to be one performance you will never forget Tills is the first High School Opera, and it will be a long time before there will be another on? like it. The proceeds from the opera will ro toward the Bond Fund. We will see you next Wednesday night. For Defense The sale of bonds and stamps has increased greatly during the last few weeks. In one day alone nearly $1300 was raised on bonds and stamps. We are sure that this lE--3MX-- w.U continue to increase. The Band invested the money allotted them for last ar and this for band expenses in war bonds. This totaled up to $200. Although the plan has not as yet been carried out, there has been some talk of posting a large picture pic-ture of Hitler and his fr.ends in the library. Then everyone purchasing purchas-ing stamps would be granted the privilege of pasting a piece of paper over a part of Hitler. After enough purchases Hitler and his friends would be entirely blacked out which is Just what we are after. Faculty Meets The faculty met last Tuesday in a special meeting at wh'ch Glenn E. Snow, President of the Utah Education Ed-ucation Association, spoke to them. This meeting was very interesting to all of the teachers who attended. Date of Play Selected The High School Play "Letters to Lucerne'1 will probably be presented pre-sented on the 19th of March. Although Al-though this is not definite, the play will be presented somewhere close to that date, so be watching for it. Last League Game The last league game of the Basketball Bas-ketball season will be played here at the high school tonight (Friday) r.gainst the Parowan team. We are all pepped up and waiting, and we are sure that we will be able to win this game. There will bo a dance after the game, a victory dance. We are going go-ing to end this season the right way. Third Highest In Test Alan Taylor, one of the outstanding outstand-ing students of Cedar High, has recently been to Salt Lake and taken ta-ken the Army Air Corps test. This test included Physics, Aero Dynamics, Dy-namics, Meteorology, Aircraft En gines and Mechanics, Current E-( E-( vents and Mathematics. Of all the t boys who took this test, Alan passed pas-sed with the third highest rating. We are very proud of him and the ability he has shown. Lyceum Number The lyceum number Wednesday was one that we all enjoyed. Miss ' Eclwina Eustls entirely won our admiration through her wonderful singing. It is a privilege to have such accomplished artists as Miss Eustls here to perform for us. |
