Show School Children To Make Tin Can Collections The Elementary School children under the supervision of Principal Oscar Hulet and his staff of teachers, teach-ers, have undertaken the huge tass of collecting all tin cans Ceda; people have been saving for a long time for the War Salvage Program. At last freight rates have been lowered sufficiently to permit the cans to reach the de-tinning centers cen-ters and a train load will leave Salt Lake City about the middle of this month. The Salvage Committee Commit-tee wants Cedar City's and Iron County's present supply to reach that train load and thanks to the school children and their teachers, this aim will be made possible. No committee could possibly collect all these cans from every family In town, and the Committee wants the children to know they are contributing contri-buting a great service toward our Joint war effort in performing this important service. Will all people show their appreciation appre-ciation to the children and their supervisors by having the tin cans cleaned, flattened, and labels removed re-moved and In a sack or box that can be easily taken to the Elementary Elemen-tary school. There they will be called for by the committee and shipped immediately. The children will begin collecting collect-ing Monday, March 8, and loyal cooperation with them will be more than appreciated. The tin can Is vital to the Joint War Effort. |
