Show Utah State Fair Dates Announced By official board action, the dates for the 1945 Utah State Fair have b. en set for September 3 through September 11. This period piovid:s for" a nine-di.y exposition and -mark a departure from tradition, since no previous fair has ever been schedu.-ed schedu.-ed for a longer run than eight days Another Innovation will be the launching of the fair on Monday, Labor Day. The custom has always been to cp-n on the Saturday preceding pre-ceding Labor Day. These changes have been made to conform with a schedulj of expanding expand-ing fair activity looking to the climactic clim-actic year cf 1947, said Sheldon R. Brewster, secretary-manager. The fair In 1946 will also have unique significance Inasmuch as it Is the 50th. annlverslty of the year In which Utah was granted statehood Accordingly, It Is the plan of the UU.h State Fair association to key its activities to this sequence of historic events. The fair this y;ar has adopted as i's theme "the portrayal of postwar post-war Utah." "It Is well understood," said Mr. Brewster, ''that the war 1 Ls not yet won, that there is a difficult dif-ficult road ahead to the goal of I total victory.
