Show Three Day Red Cross Conference Held In Cedar A three day Red Cross Convention Conven-tion at Cedar City closed Wednesday Wednes-day with a session on disaster service. ser-vice. Held at the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural College sessions on Monday and Tuesday were devoted to Chapter Chap-ter administration, budgeting and finance, nutrition service nursing service, and Red Cross Public Information In-formation Representatives frcm the area office of-fice in San Francisco include E. C. Bergeson, regional director, Archie B. Baardseth, field representative; Hugo Vindahl director of public information; in-formation; Mrs. Marian Sniff en, Miss Ruth Ellis and Miss Mary Jones. Representatives from several surrounding county chapters attend-I attend-I ed most of the sessions. Local Chapter officials pres nt I Included Gustive O. I The Iron County Chapter of the American Red Cross Is well organ-lz organ-lz d with considerable work being I accomplished which Is not generally known to the public. Illustrative of -ihls is the training of fifty-seven Nurses Aides at the Iron County Hospital, who after graduation have I contributed over 9000 hours of nursing nur-sing service locally. Twelve of the flfty-sevan have given additional service at Bushn-11 hospital at Brigham Brig-ham City. It would have been Im possible for the local hospital to function during the past two or three y ars without the help of Nurses Aides. Th home Nursing Committee has graduated over 142 in the fi Id during dur-ing the past two years. The Pro-fduction Pro-fduction Committee has re wed ovr 5000 articles during 1944 alone and has now on hand 1000 yards cf broadcloth to be nvr.de Into clothing for Philippine rell-f.
