Show A Worthwhile Contribution Whih the members of the City Council arc considering ways and means of Increasing the city retentional reten-tional facilities for the benefit of local people, particularly the young people and the returning service men. they should not overlook the opporunlty to extend the use cf the municipal swimming pool, doubling its value, and nt very little cost. By the Installation of glass walls cn the South and West sid.s of the pool, the plunge could be utlliod much earlier In the Spring nnd Qt i I- ast two months longer at the end tf the season, doubling the length of time In which the pool could be used each season. In addition, ' the Installation of such walls would greatly reduce the problem of heating heat-ing the water, because the cool breezes of the evening would be kept out. Still another ndvantage would be that It would provide more privacy for the swimmer, which ls especially desirable for the older people who wish to use the pool, and In the event of the club or group parties. Certainly the cost of such Improvements Im-provements would not be prohibitive, prohibi-tive, esp-dally when the benefits to be derived are taken Into consideration. consid-eration.
