Show i Reuben Gardner Dies At Pine Valley Reuben Gardner, 87, of Pine Valley, Val-ley, father of Mrs. Henry L. Jones of Cedar City, died Saturday at his' homo of causes Incident to age. Funeral services were held Wed- ncsday afternoon with burial made in the Pine Valley cmetery. Mr. Gardner was born in Mill Creek. Salt Lake county. Sept. 1. 1857. a son of Robert and Jane Gardner. He moved to south rn Utah when his father was called, by Brigham Young to develop the lumber industry In the region. On Dec. 10. 1879 he married Lucy Alomira Snow in the St. George L D S Temple. She died Oct. 1, 1944. He has been a prominent farmer rnd Ftockman of southern Utah for many years and never actually re- j tired from work, In spite of his age. Of 12 children, nine are living; two sons. Dr. C. S. Garner. Oakland. Oak-land. Cal.; E S Gardner. Pine Valley seven daghters Mrs. Henry L. Jones, Cedar City; Mrs. J. H. Jensen, Jen-sen, Ephraim; Mrs. Lee Beckstrom, Pine Valley; Mrs. E. M. Jenson, Provo; Mrs Glen E. Snow. St. George; Mrs. J. W. Pulsipher. Richmond, Rich-mond, and Mrs. Myron s'tout. Salt Lake City Thirty grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. I |
