Show Teen-Age Dance 0 Steps taken by the City Recreation Recrea-tion Department and the Schools to provide holiday activities for the Teen-Agers of the city Is one of the most constructive moves taken by city officials in some tkne. Officials and citizens generally have been prone to criticize the young people of the city for their acts during the holiday season In the past, but have given little thought toward providing clean, wholesome recreational activities for the young people. In the past the adults have forgotten that the young people are just as anxious to get out and have a yood time during the Christmas holidays as their parents, par-ents, and too often they have failed fail-ed to realize that with nothing for them to do the young people have been forced to find or make their own amusements. Under such conditions con-ditions It Is surprizing that more young people have not done more things that might cause their elders eld-ers to worry or become alarmed. With a special New Year"s eve dunce, with all the features of a typical New Year's celebration provided pro-vided for the young people, under conditions that will tend to provide an evening of wholesome recreation, recrea-tion, we can expect the young people peo-ple to conduct themselves in a creditable cred-itable maimer. Certainly the Teen-Agers Teen-Agers will be much more happy with entertainment provided for them, than having to either stand on the outside looking in, or "crash" the adult parties If they are going to dance. Providing the special dance for the Teen-Agers Is very commendable, commend-able, and such activities should be repeated frequently.
