Show Aggie Basketeers Preparing For Conference Race With five members of last year's .squad, and a large number of promising prom-ising new men reporting regularly regular-ly for practice, Coach Ty Tydlngs i putting his Branch Agricultural College basketball players through stiff practice sessions In preparation prepara-tion for the Junior College conference confer-ence race which opens early in January. It is too early yet to get much of an idea as to the possible strength of the team, but practice games will be played soon and the Coach will get an idea what the boys can do under pressure. A game with a commercial team at Panaca. Nevada, Nev-ada, lias been scheduled for this week end, and next week the Panaca Pa-naca team and a commercial team Horn St George will tangle with the Agies on the B.A.C. gym. i The five men who played on the Aggie team last year are, Scott Larson, forward, who was elected captain of this year's team; Con Hatch, forward; Duard Millet, forward; for-ward; Deb Warner and Bryant LeiJEh, guards. Two members of last year's Cedar high school team are also fighting for positions on the B.A.C. squad. Both of them, Kent Dover, forward for-ward and Reed Rosenberg, center, aer showing up well and will be hard to keep off the team. Sandy Jorgensen of Orderville, towering center who was a thorn In the side of every high school team in this area a couple of years ago, and who plajed for the Utah State Agricultural College frosh team last year, is another promising member mem-ber of the squad. Elliott Cameron, rangy guard from Springville high school, who was considered one of the outstanding outstand-ing players in the State High School basketball tournament last spring, seems destined to be a B.A.C. basketball bas-ketball star, and will undoubtedly I be a mainstay on the Aggie guard lire. Others who are very promising include: Viv Ailams. Kanab,. guard; Wayne Robblns, SllplQ, f&rward; Shilt Stucki, a forward wl starred star-red on Cedar "M" Men teams during the past few years; Dan Rosequist. Marys vale, guard and center; Ray Englestead, Pangultch, guard; Dean Kirkham, Lehi, guard; Doug Kamow, Mllford, forward; Tommy Fullmer, Clrcleville, forward; La-Vee La-Vee Peterson, Delta, guard; Simon Benson, Parowan, forward; Marrlo Bussio, Provo, guard; Homer Ogden, Richtiehl, guard; Grant Tucter. City City, guard. Of the five last year men, Larson Lar-son comes from Monroe, Hatch from Koosheram, Warner form Provo, M;llett from Springdale and Lelght from Cedar City. |
