Show Iron County School Teachers Granted Salary Increases In order to help meet tthe rise In living costs, members of the Iron County school board voted at their regular semi-monthly meetlns Monday to increase the salaries of all teachers In the county by $50 a year. Similar raises were also granted the full-time Janitors, he bus mechanics and office assistant. It Is stlmated that the annual payroll pay-roll for the district will be Increased Increas-ed approximately $3,500 as a result re-sult of the action. The results of the recent school board election were also canvassed and Wilson N. Lunt formally declared de-clared elected to the board as the representative of District No. 4, comprising the west side of Cedar City, to succeed W. H. Leigh. Mr. Lunt won the election held December Decem-ber 3, by the narrow margin of one vote over his closest competitor. John S. Chrlstensen. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to routine business matters and the approval of bills presented against the district. |
