This is the quiet season of the year in building circles, and not much has been said on the subject for several I months, but those of you who have chanced to be riding in the western part of town have doubtless noticed a beautiful residence in the western part of town, which is neurinf i.om-pletion. i.om-pletion. It is the home of oir enterprising en-terprising dentist, Dr. F. II. Petty. In this home is to be found every modern convenience and comfort. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, three bed rooms with wardrobe ward-robe closets, hath, garage adjoining, and in the basement is a store room, children's play room, laundry, furnace and coal room. Dr. Petty is spending $S,00 ).00 on house and grounds, und the work is being done under the direction of Architect Ar-chitect Randall L. Jones and Contractor Con-tractor Geo. A. Wood. We welcome such men as Dr. Petty to our community and can find room for many more of this Bort. Robert L. Heyborne has moved his .family into his beautiful new cottage I that has just been completed by Con-I Con-I tractors Walker and Webster. This I little home shows what can be done ! in the way of incorporating the beautiful beau-tiful and the convenient arrangement , into the house of moderate cost. While we have not yet had the op- portunity of visiting Mr. und Mrs. Heyborne, we are informed that for l $3150 they have in the ground floor la lurge living room, sun purlor, kitch-' kitch-' en, and two bed rooms. And in the i basement a coal and furnace room, i laundry and store room. Cedar City is steadily building up, but none too fast for the require-fthents require-fthents of our growing- population. That Cedar City is not going to be behind m the matter of building this j senson is evidenced by the work already al-ready in preparation and which is to begin as soon as possible. Architect Archi-tect Randall L. Jones is working on plans for residences for II. H. Lunt, Herbert P. Haight, James Bryant, i Samuel F. Leigh, Mrs. Sadie Buck-waiter, Buck-waiter, and office rooms in the Sheep Store Building for the Forest Reserve, all of which will be ready for build;ng operations soon. There are several other project for j which sketches .are being prepurod. So much activity is unusual for this I season of the year, and wo'ild indicate indi-cate u bigger and belter Cedar City before the year 1919 is ended. - |
