Show WASHINGTON CO- NEWS WHITEWASHES SNOW In its last issue, in a front page article, the Washington County News flies to the defense of Jos. S. Snow, representative of Washington county, who placed himself on record as opposed op-posed to every piece of legislation introduced in-troduced in the state legislature calculated cal-culated to in any way benefit the newspapers of the state, while at the same time making a passionate appeal to the papers all along the line to work tooth and nail for the Arrowheud Trail, which would bring the travel to southern California past his large garage and store and other business interests which would benefit immeasurably immeas-urably thereby. The News makes a martyr of Snow and claws visciouuly at this paper for showing him up. With this demonstration it is not hard to see how Mr. Snow obtained his low regard for the newspapers of the state. Anybody else would feel the same way about a paper that he can slap in the face und then have it whine around like the snivelling sycophant syco-phant that it is und lick his hand. Too bad that thre are such mice in the profesion, as the craft as a whole has to suffer for it. We knew perfectly perfect-ly well that the News hadn't the guts to tell the truth about Mr. Snow's Infractor conduct, und so essayed to relieve it of the responsibility and do it a favor; but we hardly oxpectctd that it would turn and try to rend us for assuming a responsibility which it was too cowardly to undertuke. |
