Show S. W. Jakeman, brother of J. P. Jakeman, the contractor and builder of this city, and C. A. Tolboe, both of Provo, came in Monday to be present at the awarding of the contract for the construction 6f the Carnegie library. The gentlemen are both contractors of coniderable fame, Mr. Tolboe having erected a number of high school buildings throughout the state, the last one 4 - which he completed being a 4 I $30,000 building for the Draper ' school district in Salt Lake- " county. ' Dr. Rufus Leigh arrived in I Cedar City Wednesday and has I since been engaged in meeting H old friends and acquaintances. He has secured offices in the . H Mercantile building and will shortly be ready to practice his I profession, that of dentistry. Dr. Leigh was born and reared , in this city, but for some years ' past has been absent in other ' parts of the country, teaching and attending college.
