Show No Doubt She is Correct. . According to an American actress who married a foreign "nobleman," the reason why women prefer foreign husbands to the local brand is due to the fact that the latter are "too delicate." She explains that the American man is reared under the direction and within the influence of his mother and sisters, and when he goe to school he is taught by women until he reaches young manhood. This, she said, makes him more timid and hesitating in his attitude toward women, and consequently when opportuhltiesy offers the American girl does not hesitate to accept a foreign proposal. While the above were her reasons for her views on the marriage of American girls to foreigners, she might well have added that the men of this countrv do not cease to be ruled by women when they leave school, but must submit to feminine control until, no longer able to bear the burden, they die to escape-' the cruelty; in other words, the men of this country are ruled by the women, from the cradle to the grave. Controlled by women in the home, controlled by women in the schools, controlled by women at the polls, controlled by women in the legislatures, controlled by laws made by women or through women's influence, is it any wohder the men of this country are different from those of other countries if the actress above quoted is correct in her assertions. |
