' Gillis. ; Duncan Gillis, the veteran foreman of the famous Silver King mine, succumbed suc-cumbed shortly after daylight Tuesday morning from injuries received while on duty in the mine Monday afternoon. In Park City everybody is mourning his sad death and -offering condolence to the heartbroken family. The miners feel they have lost "one of their best friends. ' While the fatal accident occurred Monday afternoon, there was no suspicion sus-picion of anything amiss until Monday evening. When he failed- to return' home after work, his wife became alarmed and caused a search-to ' be : started. His bleeding form was found at the bottom of a chute in the 800-foot level." He had lost his footing in crossing cross-ing the chute on a plank and had fallen a distance of twenty-seven feet. He was unconscious when found, and did not leave the state of coma. Death came at 6:40 a. m. In the death of Duncan Gillis, Paik City lost a most estimable man, an enterprising citizen, and, what: is sadder sad-der than all, his family has lost a most noDie, loving husband and father. To the wife and children his death is a terrible bereavement. , ; -. -, i May God comfort them in their bitter bit-ter trial.
