Hagenbarth arrived in the city last Sunday, after an extended visit In Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. D. Wood expect to go abroad, leaving here some lime in January. Jan-uary. ,j George Trumbo left last Saturday morning for San Francisco. Hon. A. C. Cleveland, who has been spending the past few days with Salt Lake friends, started last friday for his home in White Pine county, Nevada. Ne-vada. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. ', given at Mrs. Robert Osborn's playhouse play-house in New York last week in aid of Mabel Bouton. the well known actress who is critically ill at the Metropolitan hospital. Among the prominent players who contributed their services were Annie Yeamans, Miss Annie Irish. Miss Blanche Ring. Thomas Q. Seabrooke and Weedon Grossmith. Miss Bouton is a sister of Mrs. Cloy Elmer of this city, who was assistant soprano in the cathedral choir a part of last year. Clarence K. McCornick has succeeded Thomas Roscamp as a dfrector of the California Mining company. Mrs. T. D. Sullivan of Eureka was in the city last week. Mr. Donnelly of Tintic was in the city last week. Joseph Gries of Silver City was in the city last Monday. Mrs. Sara Wilson last week returned .to Park City. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. McCanne are at home to their friends at 914 First street. Mrs. L. M. Earl entertained in honor of Miss Fahey of Wallingford, Conn., and Miss Paddell of New York City last Wednesday afternoon. . - - - Miss Agnes Harrington of Park City was in the city last week. Mrs. B. McDonough of Park City is the guest of her sister, Mrs. James .Duffy. Mrs. Joseph - Siegel of Butte is the guest of Mrs. J. E. Bamberger. j Mrs. Hanchett expects her mother and sister from New York this week to be her guests for the winter. . D. B. Cronin of Eureka was in the city last week Mr. and Mrs. F. A. McCarty of Park City are visiting in the city. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McGill returned to Park City last Friday. Murty McPolin of Park City spent last week in the city. , Mrs. Shea of Eureka spent a few days in the city last week. ' Mrs. J. R. Walker returned Saturday evening from San Francisco. Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Mclntyre have announced the engagement of. their daughter Emma to Mr. Richard H. Latimer. The marriage will take place on the 24th of the month. ! - W. P. O'Meara entertained delightfully delight-fully at a breakfast last Saturday at the Alta club, his guests being the Rt. Rev. L. Scanlan, Thomas J. Lynch and M. J. O'Meara. A delightfully iocial evening wa-J spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Finnegan last Tuesday evening by their friends, who had the pleasure of meeting Miss Faye, sister of Mrs. Finnegan. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ray Walker are expected ex-pected home from the coast about the first of the month. A musical and literary programme will be given at the Utah state penitentiary peni-tentiary on Thanksgiving day. Mrs. J. M. Moore will entertain at dinner on the 27th. - ''Now that the election is over and it Is up to the Republican legislature to choose a senator, what is the matter with bestowing the honor - on- Hon. This hospitable couple are never j so happy as when entertaining the I young people, and their guests fully I appreciate the cordial greeting and hospitality shown them.
