In ihe I'diiejt ional work of onr eity during the p.'st year there has been much improvement in ihe way ef increased huildimr facilities and an increase in :;ttcnd;:nc( in the public schools. In their education;.! educa-tion;.! labors ihe Sisters of Holy Cross may well be vk a-cd with the splendid results achieved from ih li- efforts during the past year, both in increased attendance and many improvements in ground and l'lohlings. It is now that excellent results are being ei.iained hy ibis order of teachers through ihcir h.ning constructed years ago a building suitable for iheir present requirements in educational work a feature which' will redound to their advantage for years to come. The Ogdeii council of the Knights of Columbus has been inert using its membership of late. It now l.a- enrolled more ihan Kill members, and more yet fippKing for recognition as members. The insti-1 insti-1 u' ion of this order in our city is now more than y year old, and the question may now be put and aii-wered. what seems to bo result of its presence as a fraternal body in our midst '. I would reply, it has done much good in promoting a most fraternal feeling amoiigsl the male members of our eongrega-iion. eongrega-iion. Taken in a general way the city of Ogdcn has improved nim h in appearance during the year ll04. The paving pf streets, laying down cement walks, and e-.n-t ruction of new sewers has done much for tlv satiiiary wants of our eity. There has been a me-t substantial increase in the number of homes and business blocks of Ogdcn during the year.- As common with our sister city of Salt Lake. Ogden :dva.s has one or two railroad schemes to cheer hearts of the hopeful. . Inning the past three years our city has drawn v niosi sphsiantial benefit from the building of the 'great cut-off over ihe lake. This is now in successful success-ful operation and in its construction about SjsU'OH,-poi! SjsU'OH,-poi! was sj.i;i iM and around Ogden.
