New Mexico and Indian Territory. They protest against the classification of women with the "illiterate," the "weak-minded" and the "criminal." They feel that the pas-sage pas-sage of the bill in its present form would be an insult to: the women of America. The resolutions were forwarded for-warded to Senator Beveridge at Washington. Wash-ington. ;""' The regular mid-winter examinations at the Sacred Heart academy were completed Thursday morning, and in the evening an entertainment was given for the pupils. Owing to the elaborate entertainment given earlier in the month, the affair w as less formal. Many of the pupile will go to their homes for the holiday season. The class room work is to be resumed on Jan. 9. The wedding of Miss Ella M. Tavey to W. H. Kahler of Salt Lake occurred Wednesday afternoon at the residence of the parents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. II. C. Tavey, on Twenty-third street. A reception 'was held in the evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Kahler. which was attended by a large number of friends of the couple from hoth Ogden and Salt Lake, and which was one of .the notable events of the social season. |
