Show DUTTON LOVING CUP. Friends of Alan L. Lovey Are Donors at a Press Club Gathering. At the rooms of the Salt Lake Press club an informal meeting was held on Wednesday night, during which Alfred H. Dutton was presented with a loving cup by about fifty friends of the late Alan L. Lovey. The cup was given to Mr. Dutton as a mark of appreciation for his incessant vigil at the bedside of Mr. Lovey during the last hours of his life in the hospital at Reno. In performing per-forming this service of an intimate friend, it was considered that Dutton had represented them and had done i what they would have done had oppor- j tunity offered. M. F. Cunningham made the presentation presen-tation speech on behalf of the club and other friends. He spoke feelingly of the love they all felt for Lovey and of the consolation it was to them to know that there was someone by his side cheering him through the last illness, doing all that could be done to save him from the fate which finally overtook over-took him. The cup was made by Boyd Park and bears the following inscription: "To Alfred Hutchinson Dutton. this testimonial of the regard in which he is held by friends of Alan L. Lovey. in appreciation of the tender, unfailing ministrations that brightened the last hours of the friend whose work is fin- j ished. 'Oh. call it by some otheivname, j for friendship sounds too cold!' " j Accompanying the cup was the fol- 1 lowing: i "To you.
