Show GLORIOUS EASTER. "Ye seek Jesus of Xazareth who was crucified, j He is risen." St. lark. xvi.. 1-7. Glorious tidings. Xo wonder the sun shims brightly on this day, all nature seems rejoicinir; you can even hear the feathered songsters calling to each other, "Christ has risen," and the gentle winds through the trees answer in reply, "lie is risen indeed." Those three precious words, "lie is risen." uttered 2.0(H) years ago to Blessed Maiy Magdalene and Mary the Mother of James and Salome, Sa-lome, have echoed through the centuries to our present day and will continue re-echoing throughout through-out the world till time shall be no more, telling sinful sin-ful man the joyous tidings of the resurrection of that loving Savior whose awful passion and death were caused hy their selfish wickedness. The sacrifice of the Paschal Lamb has been accomplished. ac-complished. Our sins of the past have been wiped away through .the resurrection which we today joyously joy-ously eelebrat. The Holy Catholic church gives us from her altars that ever welcome ami soul-sat-isfying invitation of the risen Christ. "Come unto mo all ye who labor and are heavy laden and I will refresh you." ami more joyous still, lie, the risen one. in order that he might not die in vain," lias left behind him that glorioviR legacy in which every child of Mother Church is a sharer, the most blessed sacrament of xenance. What divine foresight, what ineffable Jove, what beautiful forgiveness, lie was placed in Pilot's hall; he was peered at on the road to- Calvary. Three times ho fell under the weight of the cross on that awful journey. We watched hisngony and death on the cross, but thanks to God we also heard, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Passion and penance, pen-ance, the pardon from the cross, the opportunity to retain that pardon till we are also admitted to our heavenly homo, bequeathed to us in penance, Oh happy Easter. -Again we rejoice because the eyes of our dear lady of victory are filled with a joy unspeakable, "He is risen." I can never turn my face from them, nappy Easter! Through this blessed resurrection we also have the certainty of knowing that all our loved ones will rise again, purified as by fire. What a blessed privilege is ours, our prayers ascending to the most high, bring iignt ami peace ot mind to the dead who are m Limbo. How many of us have felt the presence of the Dark Angel, and oh! what joy beyond compare has been ours in being able to pray for the souls of our dear ones, all this we owe to this glorious Easter East-er resurrection. Therefore let the '"Gloria" once more be sung. When the blessed body of our Lord is held on high by his priest, let us adore with fourfold four-fold love and thankfulness, and as we hear the solemn, "Lord I am not worthy." lot us rejoice with joy unspeakable because we know that, he. Sweet Jesus, has but to say the and "'we shall be clean." Oh, Sweet Savior, Ave rejoice this day because thou hast risen, and become the first fruits of those who sleep. Teach us so to live from this day forward for-ward that wo also may rise again, purified by the sacrament of penance and become partakers of the joys of thy heavenly kingdom, and thou sweet Lady of the Bosary. grant to us thy unworthy children, the blessings of thy intercession on this blessed Easter morning. Christ has risen, glorious tidings. Spread the news from pole to pole. Throuirh the Easter resurrection, Hope springs up in every soul. |
