Show BUTTE, MONT. i In nearly every church in Butte beautiful and appropriate Easter Sunday Sun-day services were held Sunday. The interiors in-teriors of many of the sacred edifices were splendidly decorated with flowers. Special music in some of the churches also was an important feature of the services. At St. Patrick's. The services at St. Patrick's church, of which Rev. Father DeSiere is pas, were of a character in keeping with the importance of the occasion. The altar was beautifully decorated with flowers and a program of special music was arranged. ar-ranged. At fifteen minutes to 11 o'clock the priests of the church, accompanied by their attendants, marched from the rectory to the church. Rev. Father Follet delivered the sermon at hign mass. The evening sermon was preached by Rev. Father Kealy. At Sacred Heart. Six masses were celebrated at Sacred Heart church, concluding with a sol emn high mass at 11 o'clock, at which Rev Father Carr was celebrant. Rev. Father Leshner deason, and Rev. Father Fath-er Moran subdeacon. Rev. Father Leshner delivered the sermon. At the evening services Rev. Father Moran preached. The special music was of an elaborate elabo-rate nature. The church and altar were beautifully decorated with flowers. Services at St. Lawrence. Five trasses were celebrated at St. Lawrence church, Walkerville, of w hich Rev. Batons is pastor. They were at 5 o'clock, half-past 6 o'clock. S o'clock, , half past 9 o'clock and 11 o'clock. Following the 11 o'clock mass benediction was given. Rev. Father Curran of Gonzaga college. col-lege. Spokane, delivered a sermon at the 11 o'clock high mass. Special music mu-sic was arranged. The floral decorations decora-tions at St. Lawrence's church were beautiful. At St. Mary's. Rev. Father Hannan delivered a sermon ser-mon at the S o'clock mass at St. Mary's church, Centerville in the morning, and also at the 11 o'clock high mass. At half past 9 o'clock a sermon for children was given. Rev. Father English, pastor pas-tor of St. Mary's, preached during the evening services. Special music was a feature of the services at St. Mary's. ' Much attention also was paid to the floral decorations. Services at St. Joseph's. Owin? ti the absence of Rev. As in the other churches, the interior of the church was beautified with floral decorations. At Holy Savior Church. Two masses were celebrate dat Holy Savior church, Meaderville, this morning, morn-ing, one at half past 8 o'clock and a high mass at half past 10 o'clock. Rev. Father S. J. Sullivan delivered sermons at both masses. At the high mass he spoke in Italian and then in English. Special music was furnished by the Italian choir. i- V Death came last Sunday to James Murray, for twenty years a well known and highly respected resident of Butte. Mr. Murray recently contracted pneumonia, pneu-monia, and although everything possible possi-ble was done to aid him, he sank until he died. Mr. Murray was 36 years of age and resided at 409 North 'AWNfci: street. He leaves a widow, two broth- era. Daniel and Joseph, residing here, a brother, John, in St. Louis, a brother, Frank, near Boise, Ida., and a sister, Mrs. Dan McCarthy, residing at Canton, Can-ton, Mont. Ten years ago he married Miss Mary Kennedy of this city. Information of the death of Timothy Dawson, aged 40 years. In Salt Lake. last week, was received in Butte Saturday Sat-urday night. He was a brother of Captain Cap-tain W. J. Dawson and Mrs. Thomas S. Kilgallon of this city. He left Butte six years ago. Mr. Dawson was unmarried. un-married. He was a mining man of con siderable prominence. Exceedingly beautiful was the singing sing-ing of the Italian Choral society of Meadervilie during the Easter Sunday services at Holy Savior church, of which Rev. Father Sullivan is pastor, yesterday. BartholemeW' Guidl is leader lead-er of the choir, and he did ably yesterday. yester-day. The singing by Domenico Pignoc-co, Pignoc-co, the solo tenor of the choir, was very beautiful. The society has established a worthy reputation. It is rapidly becoming be-coming known as one of the best organizations or-ganizations of the kind in this part of the country. Its members reside In Meaderville. On March 12 the society gave a sacred concert at the Auditorium Auditori-um In the library building, and it was one of the most important musical events of the season in Butte. On the evening of Palm Sunday the choir sang at Sacred Heart church, where it made a splendid impression. The members are' studying diligently, and being gifted gift-ed with unusually beautiful voices, are making praiseworthy progress.- The choir is composed of twenty-five male voices.
