The Holy Week service was well attended at-tended at St. Joseph's church, and several sev-eral received holy communion on Holy Thursday, thus complying with Father Conway's most ardent wishes. Easter service was indeed very beautiful beau-tiful this year at St. Joseph's church. Father Conway invited the Elk lodge to attend, and there were fully 100 members present. Rev. C. Poierieo celebrated cel-ebrated high mass, and Rev. T. M. Conway Con-way gave a very elegant sermon, taking tak-ing for his subject. "The Resurrection of Christ." The music by the choir was real good, and the church was crowded to standing room. Ed Ryan, George. Lander and Will Vollumer were the extra ushers. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Kluge, from Palisade, Pal-isade, came up on Easter Sunday to attend mass. E. R. Sims arrived home on last Saturday Sat-urday afternoon from a trip to Vernal, Utah, to spend Easter at home. W. A. Knowles and little son, Ted, returned home on Sunday from a visit with his sons, who have a large stock farm at Gunnison, Colo. Sherman W. Moody, the jeweler, is having an auction on his goods, and the same is being well attended. The presents given away every afternoon and evening are very good. |
