Show BASIN. Basin, Dec. 23. The marriage of Miss Ida J. Brooks, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Brooks of Butte, and William J. Heaney of this city, was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Butte on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1899, in the presence of a few intimate friends. Rev. Father Callahan offici ated, it was a very. quiet anair, yet it was a very pretty wedding. The bride was beautifully attired in a pearl white silk, with white fringe and a knot' of orange blossoms were on her bosom and a beautiful white aigrette was mounted on her head, thus presenting, pre-senting, a very beautiful picture. The groom was also looking his best and wore the conventional black. Miss Anna Brooks, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, while the Hon. M. L. Hewett of Basin was the best man, and as the bridal party stood before the altar they presented a most lovely picture, and as the beautiful marriage ceremony of the Catholic Church rang out nobody could be but impressed with the scene that was being enacted be-i be-i fore the altar rail. The wedding party consisted of Missi Anna Brooks, bridesmaid; Hon. M. L. Hewett, best man: Louis Sponheim of Basin. C. M. Hewett and F. N. Wild, also of the latter nlnrp . A f tar TTothor- r'tillohan had pronounced the solemn words of the marriage ceremony the party returned re-turned to the home of the bride's parents, par-ents, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served, to which it is needless to say ample justice wag done. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Bowen, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Sachs, Hon. M. L. Hewett, C. M. I Hewett, L. Sponheim, F. N." Wild, Eugene Eu-gene Dickerson and T. Donahue. As the party entered the home of the bride's- parents Mendelssohn's beautiful beauti-ful wedding march was struck up by Mrs. Sachs and was rendered in a skillful and artistic manner. A reception and banquet was tendered ten-dered the newly married couple at BouldeT Hot Springs by Hon. M. L. Hewett. |
