Show ST. IIAEY'S. . (Denver News.) A very elaborie drama, a tragedy of the time of Xero, was presented by the pupils and graduates of St. Mary's academy last night, and a very good music-ale. The play was actod out quite well, and the Sisters must have spent much time in bringing their pupils to this stage of perfection. The musicale was far superior to the drama, and is a flattering reflection of the standard of the school. An orchestra, orches-tra, composed of girls from 8 to 16, played several quite difficult compositions composi-tions with a harmonious finish that one seldom sees in an amateur organization. organiza-tion. Miss Mae Bonfils delighted the audience with an owrture composed by herself, and little Alice O'Xeil, a little black-eyed lassie of 8 or 9 summej-s, played the violin and piano with all the confidence of one many years her senior. The intermezzo from "Caval-leria "Caval-leria Rusticana" was the best thing of the evening, and showed surprising tone perfection. |
