Show WEDDING BELLS. J Sherman-Gray. The wedding of Mirs Laura Sherman, Sher-man, the younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Sherman of this city, and Nathaniel Prentiss Gray of ' Oakland, Cal., was solemnized Wednesday at 4 p. m. in Washington, D. C, at old St. John's Episcopal church. It was quite fitting that one of the fair younger daughters of the Shermon family should also.be married within the old historic walls. Although far away from Salt Lake, the bride's girlhood girl-hood home, and where she was a leader in social circles, there were about 100 present to witness the beautiful ceremony, cere-mony, including the relatives and family fam-ily friends, together with official acquaintances. ac-quaintances. To the strains of the wedding march the bridal party entered the church. Miss Rachel Wheeler, daughter of the representative from Pennsylvania, preceded pre-ceded the bride, w'.to come In on the arm of her father. The party was met at the chancel by the bridegroom and his best man, Ralph Merritt of Berkeley, Berke-ley, Cal., and the rector of the church, the Rev. Roland Cotton Smith, who performed the ceremony. The bride wore a handsome gown of imported veiling trimmed with liberty satin and old point lace, with a large white picture hat. Miss Wheeler's gown was of embroidered em-broidered batiste, and she also wore a large white liat with green trimmings and green girdle. Both carried shower bouquets of white roses. After a supper sup-per for the bridal party at the Cumberland Cum-berland in Thomas circle, the Washington Wash-ington home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Gray left for a northern trip, which will Include Quebec before going to their home in Oakland, where they will be at home after July 1. They will stop en route in Salt Lake about June 4, a few days with the bride's sister, Mrs. George Jay Gibson. Among those present at the wedding were Roger Sherman, brother of the bride, who graduates in June from Yale; Mrs. George J. Gibson, sr.. General Miles, U. S. A., and daughter, Mrs. Samuel Reber, and his son. Lieutenant Sherman Sher-man Miles: Miss Llzie Sherman and Mrs. James McCallum, all cousins of the bride: Major and Mrs. Lanfitt and Miss Lanfitt: Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Wheeler, Major and Mrs. George m!
