Mrs. O. K. Lewis and Mrs. E. D. Miller won the prizes. The Neighborhood Card club held its last meeting also with Mrs. Wev on Thursday. Frank Root returned . Tuesdav after spending the winter on a ranch "in Nevada. Ne-vada. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Daly entertained bunday at a family dinner, when covers were laid for seventeen. William and George Igleheart. with their aunt. Miss Igleheart. will return here the first of June after a year spent in Paris and Lucerne, where the bovs have been in school. J. E. Cosgrlff has returned after a business busi-ness trip to Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Powers came to the city to attend the funeral of Mrs. S. Wilson. j F. A. McGurrin. president of the Salt Lake Security & Trust company, was called to Los Angeles on important busi ness this week. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fisher announce the engagement of their daughter. Alice E to Frederic B. Davidson. The marriage mar-riage will lake place Tuesday. June 2. Mount Vernon seminary in Washincton, D. C, which the Misses Alice and Marv Wall have been attending, closed last week for the summer. Colonel and Mrs. Wall and their five daughters will probably prob-ably return next week. Mrs. A. V. Callaghan returned during the week. She was accompanied by Miss Dorothy Kinney, who has been visiting her sister in Portland. Miss Dorothy Kinney is visiting Miss Katherine Judge. Dr. and Mrs. Viko entertained twenty or their friends at oOO last Mondav evening, even-ing, when prizes were won bv Mrs. J. McSurley, W. S. Henderson and Mrs. Bero. Miss Cosgriff was hostess at a dinner at the Knutsford, given in honor of Miss Stingley. Mrs. A. Fred Wey entertained the Neighborhood Bridge club Thursday afternoon. aft-ernoon. An elaborate tea. which was one of the most elaborate of the season, was given at the Ivers home on East First South street Wednesday, when Mrs. James Ivers and her daughter, Mrs. James Finlen of Chicago, were the gracious hostesses. The decorations throughout, in green and white, were very effective. In the par- i lors, library and hall snowballs were used in profusion in jardinieres and vases and massed on the montels. In the dining room Shasta daises were exclusively used. A large crystal basket of the beautiful flowers formed the center piece on the table, where lace doilies were used and which was softly lighted by green shaded silver candelabra. Mrs. Charles S. Vad-ner Vad-ner and Mrs. Henry Welsh .of Park City pouted tea and coffee, and were assisted by Miss Judge. Miss McGrath. Miss Webber Web-ber and Miss Kinney of Portland. |
