Show j . BUTTE, MONT. I Mrs. Hugh Hannigan of Anaconda was called to Butte Sunday by the illness ill-ness of her daughter, Miss Mary Hannigan. Han-nigan. in the office of the Hennesey Mercantile company for the past two years. She will return home with her mother as soon i as she has sufficiently recovered. Marie, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Callahan of Basin, died at the home of Mrs. Callahan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Driscol, 842 West Granite street. May 26. A more delightful and enjoyable card party has never been given in Butte than was the one on Friday afternoon, when the Misses Nissler and Mrs. Louise Jahreiss entertained at euchre in honor of Mrs. Ben MacDonald of Ta- corria, eight tables being played. The young son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Mar-cus Hanley was christened on last Sunday afternoon at the church of the Immaculate Conception on the west side by Rev. Father Barry r pastor, and the beautiful little boy now bears the name of John Berkin Hanley, carrying carry-ing the name of his grandfather, who is the parent of Mrs. Marcus Hanley. Miss Olive McDougall and Mr. Ray McDonald stood as godmother and godfather, god-father, respectively, and after the christening services the parents, grand parents and the godparents went to the home of Mr. Dan Hanley on the west side, where a christening suppei was served. The card party and dance given by the Young Ladies' Sodality of St. Joseph's Jo-seph's parish at the Holland pavilion proved a great success. The affair was under the leadership of Miss Frances Elliott, who did much to Insure the success of the undertaaklng. After enjoying en-joying several hours of whist a grand promenate. in which 175 couples par-ilicipated, par-ilicipated, was held, and then a waltz was enjoyed. A grand march to the reception room was next in order. The guests seated themselves at prettily decorated tables and enjoyed refreshments refresh-ments furnished by Rev. Father A. D. Teitham. The splendid work done by Father Leitham is appreciated by every member of St. Joseph's parish. He has decided to visit his old home in Pennsylvania, where his mother resides, re-sides, and in order that he may be given a good sendoft a big time has been planned for the night of June 10 at Holland pavilion. The proceeds ' of the affair will be used to defray the expenses ex-penses of Father Leitham's trip, as his parishioners feel he is justly entitled to the vacation. A, ball and reception will be the feature of the . affair. It is planned to have the Boston & Montana oana present, a Danquei aiso will be served. ' Miss Mary McDermott and her brother, broth-er, James McDermott, entertained at cards on Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stanbury, in West Silver street, and an enjoyable evening passed. Rich red carnations wer used to trim the rooms, the chandeliers chan-deliers and mantels being massed with them, and showers of the same blossoms blos-soms were placed about in an artistic manner. Present were: Dr. and Mrs. Chevigny, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Grlgg. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Glllls. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carroll, Mrs. Harry Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. s! H.
