It is probable prob-able that he will finish. his trip by the middle' of summer and .then return to Ireland. -- ' The installation of officers of the Ancient An-cient Order of Hibernians and of the I Ladies' Auxiliary took place, in Hiber-j ilia hall. I The installation of officers of the ' Ladies' Catholic Benevolent association i of Sac-red Heart churc h took plac e Sunday Sun-day night in the Sacred Heart hall. The officers for the ensuing year are: Mrs. R. Pierce, president; Mrs. M. Greely, first vice president: Mrs. B. Kelly, recording re-cording secretary; Mrs. Eveline Pierce, financial secretary: Mrs. A. McElro treasurer; Miss A. Doyle, marshal; Miss Julia Tripp,(guardian; Rev. Father Callahan, chaplain. Mrs. M. C. Lewis, the retiring president, was presented with a handsome cut glass water set. Rev. Father Callahan made the presentation pres-entation speech. j . Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mueller entertained enter-tained friendo at the concert last Tuesday Tues-day evening, later going to the Thornton, Thorn-ton, where supper was served. The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien Mr. and Mrs. Al Rochester, Miss Kate Sullivan, Arthur Mueller and the host and hostess. Rev. Father Stack' went to Billings I last week. J F. M. Gallagher has Kone to Ithaca, N. Y where he will 1 take a course in electrical engineering. . , ' Miss Mary Haggerty of Des Moines Iowa, and Francis Haggerty of Chicago are recent arrivals in Butte. Several brothers and sisters reside in the city and it the intention of Francis Haggerty Hag-gerty to remain here. Miss Maragaret Ahem, of Helena, who' is the guest of Mrs. Harry O'Gor-man, O'Gor-man, was the recipient of a pretty favor fa-vor in the form .of a vaudeville party given by Mrs. Harry O'Gorman on Thursday evening of last week, which was followed by supper at the home of the hostess. The guests were: Miss Ahern, Miss Florence Ledwi'dge. Miss Drea Johnstone, Miss Helen Denny, Miss Hallie Boucher. Miss Irene Somer-ville, Somer-ville, Mfes Wynne Berry. ' Miss May Hanly and the hostess, who also was the chaperon. . 4 ' Revered Father Bon tempo, the Jesuit priest, who conducted the Mission for the Austrians in Holy Savior's church Meaderville, last year,. has returned to Butte and will assist Father Giacolone in Meaderville, looking after the Austrians of the parish every Sunday at 10:30 in the morning and at 6:30 In the evening. Father Bontempo speaks in Carnolian, Crotian, German and Polisht Reverend Father S. J. Sullivan, of the cathedral at Helena, is in town and officiated at Sacred Heart church Sunday. Sun-day. Father -Callahan officiated in Helena. Father Sullivan is at present the only priest in Montana n-t,n to 0 doctor of divinity. He took his course and received his diploma In Rome. He is a brother of Doctor J. B. Sullivan of St. James" hospital staff. The little Catholic church at Clanov was the scene of a gay gathering at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning, Jan. 7, when the Rev. J. J. Callahan of this city united in marriage M. J. Sullivan of Alhambra Springs and Miss Margaret Mar-garet Fenlon,' sister of W. C. Penlon, one of the proprietors of the springs and of Thomas J. Fenlon of the State Savings bank. The ceremony was performed with a nuptial ' mass, the music being furnished by an orchestra from Helena. The guests from this city included William Scallon, P. J. Brophy. Mrs. A. V. Corey, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Walsh. Mise Margaret Driscoll, Miss Moran and Thomas and Walter. Fenlon. The church --'was very prettily decorated for the. occasion. - - After the ceremony the bridal party and guests returned to Alhambra Springs, where a sumptous breakfast was served at the hotel. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed pro-posed by William Scallon, who, in a neat speech, declared the bridegroom i was to be congratulated in having secured se-cured a wife whom" he regarded as one : of the sweetest and loveliest young ladies in Montana, while the bride was to be congratulated in having as a husband a young man w ho was one of the truest and most loyal -men he had ever the pleasure of knowing. He concluded con-cluded by expressing the hone that their journey through life would be one continuous wedding march. Mr. and -Mrs.' Sullivan arrived in the city by train at noon, and left on the North Coast Limited Saturday; evening on a trip to the coast. ;' |
