Show FROM NIGH? TO LIGHT. in a recent issue of the Los Angeles Times is a poem by Mrs. Helen Fitzgerald Fitz-gerald Sanders, wife of Captain Loul3 Sanders, formerly of Helena, now of Butte. Captain Sanders, while a member mem-ber of General Otis' staff at, San Francisco, Fran-cisco, met Miss Fitzgerald and married her before his service in the army terminated. ter-minated. Mrs. Sanders has also written writ-ten two books under a norri de plume and both have met with popular favor although it has not been known to all that she contributed to literature. Her latest noem is as follows: i No pleasure comes without its pane of pain; Without the shower there i$ no golden grain; ' No hone but bears Its burden, too. of fear, i ' And sorrow shadows all we, hold most dear. 1 FrIIevo?vodaSt ar Ur ys anJ woea 'Through sorrow are life's mysteries solved; . And pain, the grim stepmother of the human race, Brings forth the beautiful. Sorrow Is an uplifting and ennobling grace ThrouRh which we learn to know the good the right And value them accordingly. But for the night , - The stars would shine in vain. The flowers remain unborn but for the rain. |
