Show According to the London Mail there exists in Ireland a theory that De Wet, the elusive Boer leader, and Charles Stewart Parnell are one and the same man. "The imaginative Celt," says the Mail, "has built up a romantic story sto-ry to the effect that Tarnell did not die and was not buried; that he attended the funeral which was supposed to be his and smiled at the credulity of his countrymen. Now it is actually be-lieved be-lieved in many parts of Ireland that he really is Christian De Wet. and nothing noth-ing apparently shakes the belief of the simple Irish folk in this remarkable story." |
