Pueblo is making extensive preparations for, its street carnival, which will be held on Oct. 3, 4, 5 and 6. There will be .daylight .day-light parades. Electrical displays. Elks' circus. Ten street bands. Oriental carnival.- Free open air shows. Eight theatrical stages. Cheap railroad rates from all' points will be given by the railroads. Michael Hogan has returned from a trip to Hot Springs. Loretto academy grounds presented a festive appearance yesterday as the many beautiful faces of young ladies and happy children amused themselves in various ways, says the Chieftain of Sept. 3. From all indications the enrollment en-rollment will greatly exceed that of last year. The number present yesterday yester-day was excellent, and several arrived from out of the city last evening and others are expected. The Most Rev. Bishop Matz of Denver Den-ver was in Pueblo last Sunday and dedicated the new school at the St. Boniface Church. Js Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zelleken of Joplin, Mo., spent a week in Pueblo, visiting Mr. and Mrs." Stephen Grome, Miss Zelliken being a sister of Mr. Grome. Mr. Lee Keller, who has been in Florence, Flor-ence, Colo., for the past two months, has returned home again. The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Strabjetz was baptized by Rev. Father Gregory, O. S. 13., at St. Boniface Church on Sunday. |
