Mr. Backman was the main speaker at a special meeting of the directors, chairman of committees com-mittees and members of the Logan Lo-gan Chamber of Commerce Tuesday Tues-day evening. He represented the Logan Chamber of Commerce along with the Salt Lake City chamber at the recent annual meeting of the U. S. chamber held in Washington, D. C. Mr. Backman discussed the probable pro-bable projects that will come toj Utah and national legislation that; affects us. The Highway bill came1 from the House in fine shape but the Senate has mutilated it so much that if passed in Ws present form there will be serious reduc-j tions, reported Mr. Backman. Chairman W. R. Wallace of the Utah Water Storage Commission I was also present as a guest and was one of the speakers. He said the large revolving fund that would come into the Reclamation Department makes it possible to build many irrigation projects where they are feasible and need-L need-L ed. He reconimended that storage reservoirs in Logan Canyon be reconsidered re-considered with the view of getting gett-ing more late waiter for the settlements set-tlements north of Logan especially, especial-ly, Richinond.
