This publication is the first his-j tory recording the happenings at. the college since its establishment 1 in 1888. The book is divided into the following chapters: "Background" "Back-ground" an account of the foundations foun-dations laid by the pioneers of iUtah; "The Federal Land Grant I Act", a description of the successful success-ful attempt to establish a demo-, icratic education in America; "Utah; Establishes an Agnculturai coi- lege and experiment Station" the. story of the passage of the Lund' act of 1888 by the territorial legislature legis-lature of Utah and the actual J founding of the college; President! Jeremiah W. Sanborn an Appre-! elation," by Professor John T., Caine, 50-year employee of the college; "The Early Years," in-j deluding the struggles of President Sanborn, J. H. Paul, and J. M. jTarmer to establish the institution firmly. I "Progress and Conflict," features 'in the administration of President iw, J. Kerr; "Reconciliation and i Growth," the administration of Dr. John A.
