Show Gunnison Lions Swamp Salinaites The Salina Lions club Softball team took several scratches from the Gunnison Lions club in a one-sided contest played at Salina Tuesday evening. Roaring as they entered the field to combat their enemies, the Gunnison club fulfilled their efforts to take the game, and came out victors vic-tors by a score of 25 to 9. And was it some game! Bristling their hair, the local Lions tame boys, but cracker-jack players held a barrage of hits and runs until the scorekeeper got dizzy. In the open-'ng inning the Gunnison boys sent two counters across home plate. Salina, at her first inning, did likewise. In the second inning Gunnison cut loose and at the end of this melee the boys had scored scor-ed 9 runs. Scores were made by the locals in every inning excepting the 4th. Bert Eggertsen and "Tug" Nielson Niel-son clouted home runs, and the balance bal-ance of the team did plenty hitting. The Salina Lions, meeting a defeat here some two weeks ago at the hands of the Gunnison Lions Softball team, were outplayed in every particular. par-ticular. The losers plainly showed no organizat'on as to the fine points of the game and fell unmercifully at the hands of the Gunnison boys. The line-up of the two teams for the Tuesday twilight game was as follows: GUNNISON. SALINA. Duggins p - Peterson Nielson c Hunt Borg lb Sorenson Overfelt 2b. Ridd Last 3b Thompson Eggertsen ss .
