Show Aged Citizen Run Down By Auto H. C. Jensen, 74 years of age, ard well known throughout the valley, was a victim of an automobile ac-dent ac-dent late Wednesday evening of la.-t week. Fortunately, Mr. Jensen escaped es-caped with only bad body and had briuses and his many friends will !. glad to know that he is now on the road to recovery and is able to be up. Mr Jensen, while going north on the State highway from his home at Centerfield, at about seven o'clock. It was at the time when workmen were leaving the factory and several cars were passing. The accident victim vic-tim kept a pretty close watch for ap-proaching ap-proaching cars, according to his statement, state-ment, but failed to detect the one that struck him. Defective hearing, due to advanced age, prevented him from hearing the approaching car. When the car struck Jensen the man was thrown to the ground and rolled some ten feet and was rendered unconscious by striking the hard ground. Others passing in a car heard the groans from the injured man and he was taken to the Fjeldsted home, where Dr. Hagan made examinations of the wounds. Later Mr. Jensen was removed to his own home. Mr. Jensen Jen-sen received a badly injured hip, slight lacrations on the head and hand and his body was badly bruised. The "hit-and-run" driver failed to stop and the car license or any identity iden-tity that may lead to the apprehension apprehen-sion of the owner, was lost. Sheriff Sanderson was called to the scene, but was unable to get any clue. |
