Show Youtful Brigands Confess Stealing Five youthful burglars, names all known, but withheld for the present, broke into the Washington public school building sometime Sunday and not only carried away a watch, mould-I mould-I ing clay, and other valuables, but committed a disgraceful nuisance about the building. The depredations depreda-tions of the youthful vandals was discovered dis-covered 'Monday morning by Hyrum ; Fredrickson, caretaker of the building. build-ing. Mr. Fredrickson immediately reported the matter to John . M. Knighton, school board member, who started an investigation at once. By noon, the supposed leader of the crime, was apprehended, and after being questioned and cross-questioned, the lad with a "'record" confessed confess-ed his part an involved four other boys. Juvenile Judge, A. O. Nielson, has been appraised of the theft and soon will be in the field to make further investigations. Some of the boys are members of well-to-do families, and it is believed this is the first offense of "'bad" doing. However, the stealing of the watch and other articles make the crime serious for the youthful offenders. Other acts of the boys, though, make it a burn-!ng burn-!ng disgrace and disgusting, and officers of-ficers and school board members are determined that all acts of this kind will be stopped. Parents of the "wayward" "way-ward" boys can help a great deal in checking the stealing, and incidentally incident-ally they may aid in preventing them from serving a term in the state industrial school. |
