Show County Dairy Cattle Condition IsHealthy Sanpete county's dairy cattle, , according ac-cording to the splendid report made by a crew of expert veternarians, are among the healthiest in the state insofar as tuberculosis is concerned. Dr. C. C. Peery of Ogden, Dr. E. D. i Leiby, Logan, both in the government j service, and Dr. I. N. Nebeker, Salt I Lake City, and Dr. W. E. Thorpe, I Ephraim, assisted by County Agent C. 0. Stott, last week completed a five-week's crusade in Sanpete county, coun-ty, making tests for tuberculosis. That the dairy cattle of the county are in a comparatively healthy condition con-dition is evidenced by the fact that out of a total of 6,500 tests made, there were only fifty-six reactors. This, the veterinarians say, is a splendid showing and the fact that so few infected cattle were found is evidenced that more care for the health of the animals is being exercised exer-cised hy the owners. Gunnison Valley,, which includes Gunnison, Centerfield, Axtell and Clarion, where approximately 1000 head of dairy cattle underwent the tests, showed an extremely high percentage per-centage of healthy cattle. Of the 1000 tested, there were only six reactors, re-actors, a much lower percentage of infected animals than was found last year. |
